Terms of Use

Groply is built and operated by Cache00, an independent app studio in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Cache00, and "you" means the person using Groply.

Using Groply means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

You can use parts of Groply without an account. To run work or to subscribe you need one, and you are responsible for what happens under it, so keep your sign in details to yourself.

You must be at least 13 to hold an account on your own. If you are younger, a parent, guardian or school must hold the account and agree to these terms for you. We may close an account if we learn it belongs to someone under that age without an adult behind it.

You hand Groply a task, a question, a photo of a worksheet or a set of source files. It works on them and produces something back: an essay, a summary, revision cards, a lesson plan, code, a review.

Both halves of that are yours. You keep every right you already had in what you upload, and as between you and us, the output is yours to use however you like, including commercially. We claim no ownership of either.

We need your permission to do the obvious mechanical things with your material, and only those: store it, transmit it, and pass it to the model that does the work, so that Groply can run. That permission ends when you delete the material.

Groply exists to do work. That is the product, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. But what your school, college or exam board permits is between you and them, and those rules differ enormously.

• Submitting work Groply produced as though you wrote it may break your institution's rules, whatever we say here.
• Checking those rules is your responsibility, not ours, and we cannot check them for you.
• The review Groply writes after a run exists so you can understand how something was done rather than only holding the result. Using it is the point.

We do not accept responsibility for academic penalties. That is not us dodging: it is the only honest position, because we cannot see your syllabus.

• Anything illegal, or anything that would harm, harass, defame or impersonate somebody.
• Material you have no right to upload, including someone else's copyrighted work you do not have permission to use.
• Getting around the limits on your plan, including sharing one account between several people, running scripts against the service, or making accounts to reset a daily allowance.
• Probing, overloading or interfering with the service or the accounts of other people using it.

If you do these things we may suspend or close your account. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will.

Groply has a free plan and paid ones. The free plan runs 5 requests a day and one study sheet and one course build a week. Paid plans raise those limits and open the larger models. The current prices are shown in the app before you are asked to pay anything.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from your account.

Cancelling, refunds and what happens at the end of a billing period are set out in the Refunds and Cancellation policy, including the 14 day window.

We may change prices. If we do, we will tell you before it affects a renewal, and you can cancel rather than accept it.

Runs, reviews, outputs, study sets, courses and chats are kept and are not gated behind a subscription. Letting a paid plan lapse lowers your limits and closes the larger models. It does not lock, hide or delete what you already made.

If we ever have to stop offering Groply, we will give reasonable notice and a way to take your work with you.

Groply produces work using automated language models. They are wrong sometimes, and confidently so. Check anything that matters before you rely on it, hand it in, or act on it. This is particularly true of anything factual, mathematical, medical, legal or financial.

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any particular output will be correct or fit for what you wanted it for.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for academic, professional or financial consequences of using Groply or anything it produced.

Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty Canadian dollars if you paid us nothing.

Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot legally be removed, including consumer rights in your country.

You can stop using Groply and close your account whenever you want. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we have to stop offering the service.

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will say so in the app or by email before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will move. Continuing to use Groply after that means you accept the new version.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without affecting consumer protections you have where you live.
